A Jamaican grocery and restaurant on the side of Route 1 in Waldoboro

This unassuming spot on Route 1 serves some fantastic Jamaican fare. Oxtail stew, curried goat, ribs, jerk pork and chicken, homemade meat pies, rice & peas. They also have some occasional items like fricasee chicken, coconut curry seafood, and haddock escabeche. The folks are super nice and will give you a sample of each in case you’re undecided. Grocery has some Jamaican staples, frozen meat, some sweets like grater cake and tamarind balls. Absolutely delicious – the jerk pork is better than 99% of Maine BBQ.

Head North on Route 1 through Waldoboro.  About 3 miles past Moody’s Diner, you’ll see it on the Left on the Waldoboro/Warren town line.
