You’ll seen these chocolates in many of the high-end spots around Maine. They’ve won many an award, and for good reason. You may need to mortgage your home to get a box, but it’s worth it. Sea salt caramels are insane and the huge variety of truffles are gorgeous. But instead of just buying them from your nearest tourst stop, drive to Westbrook and visit the source. The business used to be known as Black Dinah and started on Isle au Haut. They had to move off-island to keep up with demand and moved to Westbrook. They changed the name from “Black Dinah” worried about racist overtones, though it was actually named after the Black Dinah Mountain on Isle au Haut.
