Southport General Store
A general store on Southport Island that has been the center of the community since 1882

This is an modernized general store with a decent selection of beer, wine, and groceries. But most folks seem to come for the very popular deli that makes very fresh sandwiches, pizza, and tasty baked goods. I’ve heard the breakfast menu is quite tasty. It’s all a little pricey but shouldn’t be a surprise down in a summer island community. It is similar but bigger than the nearby East Boothbay General Store.

Besides the store, there is a separate building called “The Barn” which sells Maine-made goods.
Plenty of parking and lots of outside places to sit and eat. You might even see some chickens roaming around.
- Don’t Miss: the baked goods
- Need to Know: it can get quite busy so sandwiches might take a bit
- Pro Tip: take it to go and head just down the road to the Hendrick’s Head Beach for a picnic
